BAD_MISTER, I have stored a SONG in the MotifXS that is comprised of 5 parts. I can save the entire SONG as a standard midi file and it opens in my DAW just fine. However, it puts all of the parts into one track. Is there a way to create/save a midi file that will import each part to a separate track in my DAW? If not, is there a way to accomplish what I want? |

If it’s Cubase you are using, menu: Midi->Dissolve Part is what you need. ;JOOP! |

The “it” in your question is your DAW, which opens TYPE 0 MIDI files on a single track. As pointed out in the post above usually there is a way within that DAW to divide the data to separate tracks. In Cubase this is a MIDI Function called “Dissolve Parts” which can be done by MIDI channel - places each Channels data on a separate track. You have to consult the documentation of your un-named DAW. |

Thank you for your reply. My current DAW of choice is Presonus’ Studio One. Mainly because I purchased the StudioLive 16.4.2 and like the flawless integration. The term “type0” cleared it up for me. I converted it to a type1 and it works great. |
