Some strange behavior today using Multi.

Trying to store a bass voice in Ch 3 of a multi I’m editing.  When I choose the voice and Store it, it doesn’t store that voice, it stores a different voice.  Ok, so I shut everything off, fire up the rack and voila, the voice I wanted is there.. but…

Now it doesn’t play properly. Nothing.. until I figured out the upper and lower key range settings are off. Fixed those.. now when I go to store it it shows a totally different voice again.  ARG!!

I can ‘hard code’ the voice selection in the Event view, but I much prefer the above.

I have an Axiom connected to my Sony vaio via USB (for input) using Sonar 6.

It is hard to know exactly what the issue is.

You mean you are editing a VOICE in PART 3 of the MULTI. The question is are you actually editing the VOICE (which requires the Motif-Rack XS Editor) or are you editing the PART of the MULTI?

You don’t mention the EDITOR - but we are going to assume you are editing the VOICE in PART 3 via the Studio Manager and the Motif-Rack XS Editor. (Since that is what you seem to be implying).

When you have edited the VOICE you can STORE by either right clicking in the EDIT area and select “STORE VOICE...” or you can go to EDIT on the menu bar and select “STORE VOICE...”

Either way it will then offer you any of the USER banks or the MIXING bank to STORE your edited VOICE. This will also update the MIXING setup with the newly edit VOICE assigned to PART 3.

If we are wrong about what you are doing, let us know (And give details, because as written your question is not really clear).

Let us know.

Ok, I’m using the front panel buttons on the rack to Store a VOICE in a particular channel of a Multi.  Multi 3 to be exact, channel 3.

I’m not editing the VOICE itself, I’m merely choosing a voice to be played when I use Ch3 on a track in my Sonar song.

I’ve done this a lot with none of these problems.

EDIT; I’m not sure yet, but I found a bunch of SysEx data in a Sonar track which I didn’t put there.  Perhaps that’s causing it..
