Hi.I have a question. Is it possible to use the MM6 as a sound module with a hardware sequencer as the yamaha qy700 or an other?I can use the instrument definition file with a daw and it works but does it work with a hardware sequencer? Is there anyone who tried such a thing?

No, instrument definitions work in Cakewalk (Sonar), script files work in Steinberg (Cubase)… in a hardware sequencer you will have to address the MM sounds via the Bank Select protocol.

Sequencers like the QY700 allow you to enter Bank Select and Program Changes as a ‘packed event’ you can find out about how this works here:
Bank Select and Program Change

And although the article discusses the Motif ES, you can look in the back of the MM6 manual (page 84) and find the Bank Select MSB/LSB for each MM6/MM8 sound.

Inputting Bank Select and Program Changes is fairly easy in a sequencer like the QY700.

Hope that helps.

Yes, the RM1X sequencer works in a similar fashion.
