This may be a newb question but I’d like to quickly copy drum beats from the performances into a pattern so I can quickly compose a new chord progression without having to completely write a new drum beat. Is there a simple way of copying the pre-made drum beats into a pattern?

Hint: The drum beats are actually arps.

Tip: Select a performance with a drum beat you like, and press [Record].

The resulting screen should prove interesting to you :)

An alternative method is to use the arpeggiator directly in PATTERN mode:

Painting Drum Arps to the Sequencer

There are over 1900 Drum arpeggio Types - and all are fairly flexible via real time parameters that can radically change the feel and attitude of the groove (Quantize, Swing, Velocity Rate, etc). These are called the ARP PLAY FX.
