Why are there no preset phrases in XF? |

If you are remembering preset Drum Phrases from the original Motif (where there were 128) or the ones from the Motif ES (where there were 687 preset Drum Phrases) - the Motif XS and XF no longer provide just preset Drum Phrases in the PATTERN sequencer. Instead the XS introduced the much expanded multiple arpeggio function - this included not only drum pattern phrases but musical instrument phrases, as well (XS had a total 6633 arps phrases). In fact, there were over 1,900 drum arp phrases in the Motif XS. The XF expands on the library of phrases of the XS, there are now some 7,881 arpeggios which include more than 2,300 drum arpeggio phrases. The arpeggios are designed to be more interactive and real time controllable. You can adjust the Velocity, the Swing, Quantize Strength, etc., with the real time ARP PLAY FX… Also there is a new ARPEGGIO Search/Filter and Favorite function to make navigating the library easier.
