I don’t know if it has been mentioned before, but there are 2 nice videos about the XF at SonicState, by Bert Smorenburg.

lol at ‘Pass the Naan’ name…

He mentioned ‘add break’ to the pattern.  Does that mean that now we can have a pattern ‘fill in’?

No, it’s a scene change.

Same as it every was. He presses a [SUB-FUNCTION] which you can always do during direct Performance Record - it depends on the ARP TYPES you have set on your [SF1]-[SF5] buttons - if you have an XS try it, many of the PERFORMANCES have fill-in type arpeggios setup on SF4/SF5

nice but it’s obvious Bert has nothing really new to say after introducing motif XS few years ago…

I love Bert demos, but I can see many visibly dissatisfied folks at Sonic State (maybe even Nick B. himself, but I don’t want to speak for him! :)) - it’s a synth site and they were looking for a lot more electronic sound demos, not just bread and butter stuff:

In the 2nd video, Bert explains about the filters, synthesis, etc but never demonstrated them.

Just a humble suggestion: Yamaha needs to and can do a bit better at demonstrating analog/FM/synthesis sounds.

Looking good. Bert’s getting a real Mythbusters thing going there.

I trust none of the prototypes were stolen this time..?
