Out of interest, does anyone know why Yamaha called it the XF? I would have thought the name sequence would have run ES, XS, YS or ZS. Does the ‘F’ denote the Flash aspect or something?

ES, XS were completely different keyboards - this is just a different flavor of XS. F stands for freaking.

Perhaps ‘XS’ is for Xtra Super and ‘XF’ is for Xtra Fantastic? :)

I agree, but not totally sold on it.
Could reference Flash, or FINAL, or FANALE
I don’t give an “F” either way..LOL I like the look of it, and it does have some nice new sounds, that can be used on the XS as well.

XS = Xpanded System

XF = Xpanded W/ Flashrom

The F denotes that it has the expandable Flashrom added.
