Fozzer,

3199 pound sterling for an XF8. That is terrible expensive. 300 pound sterling more than an XS8. I hope that price is incl. FLASH BOARD?

XF 6 7 8 don’t comes with Flash Board ($300) or Firewire connection board ($300).

$3199 for the XF8 is not expensive the XS7 cost $3199 now online and in most stores. I know Guitar Center are having it’s 46th Anniversary Celebration you can get good deal now on a XS 6 7 8 but not because of the new XF. The XS cost about the same.

The true is many will sale the XS8 without simple Ram 1GB or 2GB simples ($1000 Lost) then buy the new XF8 and never buy the Flash Board for $300.

XF8 + Flash Board = $3500 (not bad) If look at the
XS8 = $3499 ( bad now) price will drop soon to $2499 not bad.

You are confusing sterling with dollars. US prices at a minimum are:

The Minimum Advertised Price (MAP) in the US is the lowest price that dealers can advertise products.
We expect that you will see the following prices advertised.
Motif XF8-$3499.99
Motif XS7- $3099.99
Motif XF6- $2399.99
FL512M- $149
FL1024M- $299

So, XF8 + 2Gb Flash = $4,097. You don’t get the FW interface for that either (it’s an optional extra on the XF8).

Ouch. So $600 for 2GB of Flash RAM? That seems kinda steep!
I know it’s not a USB stick for $20, but wow.

West, the thing about the flash memory is that we don’t have to pay for hardware we won’t use or don’t want. If I can muster the $$$ to buy the XF, then I can start saving for the accessories after I get the KB in my music room and start playing it! I don’t have to choke to buy everything up front or pass on buying it at all because its totally out there in price. Maybe one player will only want 512MB for the libraries he will use, or a guy that does movie scores will want to max it out so he can have huge string libraries. We can put what we want on the XF so its flexible.

Cheers,

Mike T.

Mike, you’re absolutely right! I’m the guy who’d want to max it out. Just a little sticker shock that’s all…
