A computer and a software package does not make music… soon you are buying a set of keys (the quality to match the music you are making), and an I/O device (you have to get the music into and back out of the computer), and a control surface… (recording tracks one at time is the normal in today’s one-man studio, but mixing one track at a time absolutely sucks). By the time you are running something close to as powerful as the XF you have invested quite a bit more money. And that is still a fact in 2010… But the bottomline is you have choices.

Great point! I think the XF is an excellent upgrade and it looks like it is set a great price. That is indisputable. However, I cannot say the same for the CP1 (great board, horrible price).
