Hello all, Looking for help in emulating the sound at beginning (Prophet 600 sound)of Lets Go by the CARS. I have been using the Motif7 for a while now, and I can get a fair resemblence through the HP mix, but it sounds more like a boom box on steroids coming out of the L/Mono jack. I started out by “hot-rodding” one of the sync lead sounds. Any help would be appreciated.

Yeah using one of the sync’s is probably your best best on the XS. Maybe try to fatten it up with some chorus? I used a Korg Ms2000b for that sound on that song so it was a lot of knob tweaking to get it close. Good luck! |

The hard sync sound for “Let’s Go” is in the “Vintage Keys” library,
Vintage Keys is available for the Motif Classic, the ES, and the XS. |

I own the Vintage Keys soundset, that sound is the Prophet 5 patch. How do you edit this patch to duplicate what the Cars are doing? Thanks |

Not sure what you mean by the question. Can’t you just play the right

Ha! I’ve got that covered. I’m saying the Prophet 5 patch does not sound like the sound on that particular song. Do I need to tweek it and how? Thanks! |

I think the patch is actually called Let’s Go or Cars or something fairly obvious. I noticed I had to tweak the EQ slightly for my system but to the average person that sound is right on. |
