I’m a novice. Have my Motif XS-6 connected to my PC via USB. Running Cubase AI4 on PC - if the voice on the keyboard is set to “Full Grand Grand”, everything sounds good; can record multiple tracks, etc. And it’s very cool! Next, when I change the Motif voice to “Hyper Standard Kit”, thinking I can record a drum track, it sounds like a piano, not drums, on the Cubase side. Is it possible to create drum tracks like this? Are my settings just wrong? Something in Studio Manager I need to click? Thanks in advance. |

Could be. Here is what you need to know: If you want to use the Motif XS to create multiple tracks you want to place it in a mode that allows you to select different sounds for each MIDI channel. That is one of the two SEQUENCER modes: On your front panel you will see the two Sequencer Modes are SONG and PATTERN. (And this applies if you are using the internal or an external sequencer) If you are using the STUDIO MANAGER and Motif XS Editor, then you will notice when VOICE is clicked there is only 1 sound showing. However, if you select SONG or PATTERN, there are 16 sounds showing… one for each of the 16 MIDI channels.
So say you select [SONG] mode
