Hi all its been a while i havent had any issues guess thats why but this poped up a couple months ago and im just getting around to finding the issue as i need to use my XS as a audio interface..
ok here is the issue this has been workin great for some time the all of a sudden i started having issues with cakewalk logic mac os and cubase recognizing my xs i unplug the firewire cable and theconnection manager goes grey when i connect the cable it turns the regular darkand light green as it was onnected but i cant see it in my DAW or in mac audio settings and it usually pops up in all so i went to try and change the sample rate and it says sample rate cannot be changed because no devices are connected..... ok the i con is telling me its connected but saying no devices… so after 30-45 mins of unpluggingand replugging my firewire cables yes i tried like 5 diffrent known working cables.... and it connects and i can play music from itunes logic ect and its good so i decided to unplug the cable and try and see if it would connect back again lo and behold it did not i was there unplugging and replugging for another 20-30 mins before it recognized it again i then turned everything off and removed the card and reseated it this did nothing still would not connect can anyone please help me ??? ( ps i am a verytechnical guy ihave done evrything i can and this is happening on 3 diffrent computers so i know its the motif and i have power cycled the motif itsself too just incase some says that)

For a very technical guy, you should know, to list what version of what driver you are using. And what computer operating system you are using on what type of computer. This is very important information for anyone attempting to help you.

Pick a computer (”pc mac orwindows”) is confusing - I don’t know what you mean. Also at one point you say ”cakewalk logic mac os and cubase” let’s pick one and get it working. OK? At least let’s work on one-at-a-time. OK?

Connection Manager? That very much sounds like you are not using the Yamaha Steinberg FW driver 1.5.1 - This does not include a “Connection Manager”. The Connection Manager was for the old mLAN TOOLS Driver 1.2.0.

Are you also running an 01x, i88X, Motif ES/S90 ES with an mLAN16E, an 0-series or DM-series mixer with MY16-mLAN...? if not, forget about the Connection Manager and work with the Yamaha Steinberg FW Driver version 1.5.1 which you say you have downloaded and installed.

Go to the CONNECTION MANAGER icon and select OFF!!!
To use your new Yamaha Steinberg FW driver you will want to make sure it is selected.
Go to your SYSTEM PREFERENCES and find the Yamaha Steinberg FW Driver CONTROL PANEL. The following setup guide should be helpful for getting started:

Motif XS and YSFW Driver Setup Mac

Although it shows the setup specifically for Cubase, you can find very helpful information for setting up with Logic 8 and Logic 9 posted by a fellow Motifator user (motif8mine) in the LOGIC forum heading here on motifator.com
