So, i use pattern mode to arrange my sounds for live purposes. I have the keyboard split so that i can do bass on the left side organ and other keys split on the right.

the other day i loaded the saved sequences from the file menu and selected my “all pattern” sequence and edited one of the patterns and saved it.

that same day when i loaded the patterns back in, one of the sequences that has a sample on the last key of the keyboard was gone. it simply played a stock piano sound instead!

i checked the rest of the patterns and they are still split and setup properly except for the patterns that have the samples i saved to the card. all of those have a original voice instead.

all i can think of is when i went to load the patterns the first time, i may have tried to do a FILE load all voice or .dir or something to the like.

Any suggestions on how to get that to load properly?

I see the files name being loaded when the all pattern is loading..so i am at a loss.

Welcome to the forums. You posted in the MO6/MO8 section, it is pretty obvious from your title and post, that you do not own a MO6 or MO8, as neither of those products can load samples.

FYI: MO is not a cute nickname for the Motif, Motif ES or Motif XS, it is an actual product (see brochure below). Please let us know which product you own, the exact name is usually in the upper right corner of the front panel :)

Assuming you got the DIMM memory for samples,
realise that you lose the memory content at every power down.

Did you save the required configuration as an ALL file?

yes. i’ve had this sample and patterns working for years now.

i have to load the pattern every time. typically i go to file, all pattern and then load.

but, i think i may have done one extra step this time before i loaded the all pattern i think i either did a load all .dir or all voice..

and then i realized..the pattern i loaded was the wrong one, i went and loaded the correct pattern. made my changes and saved it.

after i loaded it later that night, i went to play one of the patterns that had the sample sound and it was replaced with a stock piano sound.

not sure what would cause that and if there’s away to get that set back.

if not..it’s been years since i loaded a sample into the patterns and i’ll need some help on how to do that again.

the sample sound is on my card just not loading back into the pattern properly.

1) make back-up’s, preferably on a PC;
2) why not AUTOLOAD your file (automatic load at power up).

I’ll set it up to auto load..but that still doesn’t explain why my samples are missing from the pattern and how to get them back.

any suggestions?

Well, although I still am not sure how the pattern got messed up i reassigned the voice and changed the wave form to my user waveform sample and that put it back to working.

odd.
