Hellow Folks

I’m kind of lost here, i made a lot of Midi files using Cubase 5 lately, so i can export it as type 0 and import it back to my Korg PA2x keyboard, untill today it all went well but since this morning, each time i’m trying to export a Midi file Cubase is freezing and giving me the darn “End now” warning.

just to be more specific:
i choose a Midi part
press “P” to locate the loop points
File\Export Midi file\give it a name\mark all the windows within the “Export Option” window” choose Type 0

and that is when Cubase freezes and get closed

i checked the Midi port setup under “Device Setup” and everything seems to be normal there also.

any help would be so great, thanks in advance guys!

Did you check your locators? Make sure they are not reversed...............frank

Hellow FrankE i’m so glad you’re here (:

yes, i did check the locators and they seem to be fine
but guess what? i solved this problem 5 minutes ago, what i did was, i opened a new project and made some experimental midi files and exported it the way i did with my original project and it went well, so i came back to my problematic project and cleared all the Midi tracks excluding the one i’m working on and now it is working as it suppose to be.

i don’t know if it has anything with the other Midi tracks but surprisingly it worked.

you must have an answer for this (:

LOL, well it could have been one of several things, but since I wasn’t there to troubleshoot things with you, I think I’ll simply refrain from making any guesses today. :) A corrupt MIDI file to start could be one thing to look for next time. The important thing is that you used a good approach to solve your problem and that everything in the new project is now working as it should. Well done...............frank

Hahaha lol (:

o.k, i found out some more details:

i’m building my own midi drums and i’m not using any third party files so my guess is that it’s not a corrupt midi file, but…
it does take time for the midi file to get exported(too long lol)
so if i live it alone without touching anything during the export procedure(not even the mouse (: )then it goes well, but if i touch anything - one single click somewhere and it all collapse, that’s what i did before, i just thought that it got frozen but i only needed to give it some more time and patience ... lol i’ll try to behave!

Thank you my friend

i checked the Midi port setup under “Device Setup” and everything seems to be normal there also.

What is normal? lol… touching the mouse should not interfere with exporting a MIDI file, and to me is an indication that there may indeed be a configuration problem - can’t imagine how mouse movement is connected with exporting of a MIDI file ? ? ?

lol i swear!i’m left\right clicking on the mouse anywhere in the Cubase area during the export procedure and it freezes, i don’t know what’s causing this behaviour but i did check the Midi port setup and they seem to be fine.
