Anyone out there have any EQ settings that they’ve had luck with sweetening the sound of the MO8’s Grand Piano preset? I generally play direct into an Allen & Heath GL2400-32 running two RCF ART-325A 15” Active Reference Speakers with two RCF 4PRO-8001-AS 18 Active Bass Reflex Subwoofers. |

Welcome to the forums! EQ settings are always “local” - what that means is you can take the same speakers and put them in a different room and you will require a different EQ. The location of the speakers to the surfaces of the room, and in fact the speakers themselves have characteristics that change depending on the locale. So passing on EQ tips is always going to be subjective (at best). What you can do is edit the Voice so it responds to your particular playing style and use your own ears. If you are playing the piano sound, you hear it one way… let someone else sit down and play it and as you move farther away and listen, ... guess what? You hear it completely differently. The farther away you get the more the sound changes. You start to realize that it is all so very subjective. Offered below is a link to an article/tutorial on editing the velocity response for loudness and timbre - both of which affect the “EQ” (after all an Equalizer is nothing but a combination of amplifiers and filters) so this will be actually getting at the source of the sound and how it behaves. And I think that is what you want to do… anyway, I think you will find it worth the time to explore this tutorial (it includes a file and a PDF article). Let us know.
