Hello all,
I use a Motif ES8 but figured it my question should apply to XS too & I’m posting this here knowing that the XS threads get some better attention! Well ,I use my Motif’s Mlan interface to communicate with Nuendo/Cubase on my PC which runs on XP.I find these days that when I transfer music to Nuendo that half way through the song the transfer does not sync v well & is delayed when it reaches Nuendo. Is there anything I could do to make sure everything is on time & in sync? I’ve also installed some new VST plug ins software on my PC which Nuendo scans & loads every time I start it up.So I’m really not sure if the problem is within the keyboard or something to do with the DAW. Anyway’s do let me know if there can be sync problem when adding too many VST plugins on Nuendo & if that could be the case how do I temporarily disable the plugins that could slow down the software from syncing well.
If the problem is within the hardware realm please let me know how I could tweak it to sync well.
Thanks.

We obviously disagree about the attention thing… please post your Motif ES question in the appropriate forum - that’s why they exist. :)

Of course, we will need the version of Nuendo/Cubase that you are using. And when it comes to sync it is all or nothing. There is not a “degree of sync” - it either does or it doesn’t sync.

Is there anything I could do to make sure everything is on time & in sync?

You will need to give the details of why you have attempted (and again the version number is very important as it will determine what options are available to you).

You don’t mention what VST plugins you have added and once again without the names and version numbers - how can we provide an answer. If you are asking does Nuendo work and sync and is it able to add new VST Plugins… the answer is yes… As one of the premiere post production software packages it is able to do this very well. Are you using the Nuendo Expansion Kit?

You didn’t specify if this sync problem is with MIDI or audio? If you have MIDI problem, find and check option “Use System Timestamp for Windows MIDI inputs”. I’m Cubase user not Nuendo, but I suppose that those settings should be the same. This option in Cubase is under Devices menu (Device Setup / MIDI Port Setup).
