Hi I have a motif xs 8 and on the first day of purchase I hooked up the motif directly my monitors system and the main volume slider would be at 3/4 ways to half and the volume level was comfortable . Now, after a year and a half later, I literally need to have the volume slider maxed up to have the same comfortable levels as before . Are my mains outs going?

I have a fantom g connected to the same monitoring system and I dont need to crank the volume knob all the way up to have a comfortable listening levels .

Is this a problem with the motifs xs ?

These are not scientific measurements or anything so I’ll just say no, not possible. Check your settings.

Thats just it. I check the settings for the outs and is set to 127.  What other setting may I have changed that I am not aware of.  I even re-installed the latest OS again and made a full factory reset and still the volume slider needs to be at max.  If I leave the slider at half, I can barely can hear the sounds from the motif.

Re-installing the firmware does nothing - firmware is one of those things you will know when it doesn’t install properly because you will need to take it to the repair center (lol).

There are settings that you may have changed:
The Main output is set as follows:
Press [UTILITY]
Press [F1] GENERARL
Press [SF1] PLAY
VOLUME = 127

Press [F2] I/O
Make sure the L/R Gain is +6dB

You don’t say what you are connected to in terms of your sound system. And you do not mention any object measurements on Meters.

To bypass any operator error with your sound system. Try plugging in a set of headphones and check your output.
Do you have something that has meters where you can check the output levels objectively?
