Hello all,

Here’s an attempt. (and my first post)

It is just one pass using performance #73 “BigStrings” I think?
Recorded the audio through a “Behringer” mixer, into a “Boss Micro BR” digital recorder (one set of stereo tracks).

The “BigStrings” performance does push the polyphony of the MO8 to it’s limits. If you listen you can hear the effect of this.
(cutoffs) And sorry, one clinker somewhere towards the middle of the piece. (rented fingers).

Anyway, thought I’d submit it to see if anyone thought it is respectable. I used very little processing, just converted it to mp3 from original raw data.

My 13 hour work days are almost at an end, so I plan to actually have time to learn how to use the MO8 soon. ;) I’ve had it for almost a year now.

Regards,
Steve K.

Sounds very serious.
It’s not the processing that’s missing but the recording has some flaws.
You don’t need Alan Parsons, just play the parts into a DAW.
Hope to hear more from you.

Funk Master,

Thanks for the kind words :)

Joop,
Huh? (Alan Parsons)

I could hear flaws in the recording myself (and in the performance, for that matter).
Seems like quality suffered when converting from wave to mp3? (could this be?)

I’ve much to learn. Hopefully I’ll have some time to do so soon.

I’m a DAW/computer recording kindergartener.
(Was last involved in music when you plugged the “Strat” into the inputs and a “reel to reel” into the outputs. I think “Eight Days a Week” was a hit then.) ;) I’ll get it eventually though.

Thanks for the encouragement :)

Steve, I can’t believe the wav-mp3 conversion did it.
Or it must be a raggy tool you are using.
I use AUDACITY and before I convert I choose a new overall volume and kbs.

I just listened to the mp3, from the web through headphones. Lots of noise in background, that I do’nt hear through my system at home. (sounds like a pot of boiling water in the background?)

Could the sensitivity setting on the digital recorder be the problem? Could be a number of things, I suppose.

Maybe connecting directly to the recorder, using the SPDIF on the back of the MO would be better? Donno.... will learn though.

In the meantime, I’ll get my DAW set up, hopefully.

Thanks again for the help and advice.
