Hi everyone,
Just joined the forum. I’m a new Motif ES Rack user. I love the strings and electric pianos but so far have been a little disappointed by the pianos and synth patches. I love what I’ve been hearing on the shop part of this site as far as the samples go. I’d love to start buying some samples but just wanted to know if I need to expand my ES Rack with ram before I can buy anything. Also how do you guys feel about the stock pianos and synths in the es? I’m a little let down because to me the stock pianos sound a little boxy and lifeless and the synth patches don’t really line up with what I like to do (I’m a big prog rock player). The Motif-Rack ES is not expandable for Sample RAM. This is one big difference between the keyboard (Motif ES) and the rack version. Sorry, you will not be able to use any SAMPLE LIBRARIES…

However, the VOICE LIBRARIES (those that use the built-in Wave ROM) can be loaded. IN the SHOP make sure the library you are interested in lists specifically your Motif-Rack ES as a compatible device.
