Hi,

I’m just wondering if there’s a way to modulate LFO speed by keytracking or velocity?

Or alternatively, if there’s any way at all to have a different LFO speed for each note in a chord.

Either LFO (COMMON or ELEMENT) would be fine.

As far as I can tell, the ELEMENT LFO can only have its speed modulated by channel modulators (such as MIDI CCs). It also seems that the COMMON LFO has the same phase (including random speed) for all notes in the channel.

Apologies if I don’t fully understand the MO architechture, or if I’m using the wrong terminology.

-Kim.

There should be a way to have differnt speeds for each Elements LFO. Each Element has its own LFO that has its own speed parameter (destinations are PITCH, FILTER and AMPLITUDE modulation.

You can use the COMMON LFO to then vary the speeds of the individual Element LFOs and you can control how much it does for each Element using the Depth Offset.

The COMMON LFO has a PHASE parameter and the ability to OFFSET the PHASE relationship of each ELEMENT. In a similar fashion, the COMMON LFO is controlled via a matrix (called The BOX). Here you can select the destination parameter for the LFO, the Elements to be affected by the LFO, and the LFO Depth. The three pages (boxes) that are provided are for setting the destination and allow you to assign multiple destinations.

Destinations for the LFO include: amd (amplitude modulation depth), pmd (pitch modulation depth), fmd (filter modulation depth), reso (Resonance), pan, ELFOSpd (Element LFO Speed).

Using the Element LFO Speed as the destination you can have the LFO apply different speeds to each of the four Elements.

In the BOX you have:
_ Element ON/OFF Switches - which allow you to apply or not apply the COMMON LFO to each Element
_ The DESTINATION - (you would select ELFO SPD)
_ DEPTH - this controls the amount of influence the LFO WAVE applies
_ Dpt Ratio EL1-EL4 - Determines the offset values of the Depth parameter for the respective Elements.

Thanks for the clarification. It’s not quite the same, but it’s probably close enough. I’ve made do using the COMMON LFO with random speed.

Cheers,

-Kim.
