I’m also from an organ background, and used to use a Roland VK7 for years and loved it.  I was looking at the new Hammond clones but decided to try Organ Sessions after listening to the demos.  I’m pretty impressed, so much that I sold my VK7 and just use the Motif now for organ.  The sounds are very easy to tweek and well put together, and there are tons of them.  But it takes a lot of memory.  I’ve just narrowed it down to about 8 voices, and eliminated duplicate waves, and it takes up a major part of my card.  If you use usb it’s not a problem.  The only real problem as I hear it is you are limited by using the Motif leslie simulator, which is a step down from a dedicated Hammond clone board.  Yes, it’s adjustable and everything, but sometimes it just doesn’t sound that great.  I really wish there was some sort of plug in board or a way to improve this.  A great sounding leslie simulator can really make the difference.  But as for the sounds itself, I’d highly recommend them

Did you try organimation? It has the best leslie settings I’ve heard you can use the sessions samples and organimation effects set up that’s what I intend to do as soon as my dimm comes in I like the sounds of organimation but I’m just a b3 nut and want more that’s why I was asking about sessions samples thanks for info

Yes, using ES.  Did you say that Organimation has it’s own leslie effect?  Doesn’t use the Motif effect?  How does that work, is it “built into “ the sample?

hey I just got my ram installed and got the organ sessions downloaded and the samples are really good but I don’t like the leslie setting as well as organimation so I’ll try to figure out how to copy the setting from organimation to the sessions patches and that should be killer.I ordered the manual for the es from yamaha 24 7 so hopefully when it comes in it’ll tell me procedures for copying effects from one patch to another I still think it’s worth having organ sessions and organimation both as it gives you tons of organs to choose from SEE YA

I think there is no way to copy just the insertion effect settings between the voices, sorry. You can copy system effects from the voice to a song or a pattern, though.

But hey, you just need a pen and a piece of paper.

For “some sort of plug in board or a way to improve this”, have you seen the Neo Ventilator? It’s a foot pedal with a really terrific Leslie simulation.

I have seen it advertised but never heard it.  All I know is it’s really expensive!!!

Well, I bit the bullet and ordered a neo ventilator.  It should be here in a week or so, It’s really expensive for a pedal, but every review is great and I’m hoping for the best.  Interestingly, I got a Hammond C3 and leslie 122 back in Nov. and have been playing the crap out of it, just loving it.  However, now I go back to my hammond sounds in the Motif, the ones I used to like, and they suck.  Nothing like playing the real thing!!  I started going back through just the basic Motif organ sounds and a few sound just about the same as the ones I like through Organ Sessions.  Funny how things sound and can change.  Anyways, I’ll check back in when the ventilator comes and see what sounds good.  Anybody else have any experience with Neo Ventilator?

Got my Ventilator the other day and WOW, what a difference!!  Now my organ sounds are very believable using Organ Sessions.  The leslie simulator is dead on, makes the sound come alive.  Highly recommended for serious organ players.
