Hi everyone,

I want to use the Voices and etc… that are on the SoundLibrary CD that came with my Motif ES.

I would like to store them in the Voice Library of the Voice Editor.

Using the ‘IMPORT’ function (in the Voice Editor) the ‘open file’ window does not recognize for ‘import’ any of the files that are in the folders of the CD.

The CD has 4 folders and 3 lists

the Lists are: PATTLIST - WAV LIST - VOICELST

The Folders are: MIDIFILE - PATTFILE - VOICEDAT - WAVFILES

Can anyone tell me how to use the files on this CD?  How to import them in the Voice Editor?  Do I have to Load them in the Motif first, and then import them (that does not seem to make any sense!)?

The free voice banks are in VOICEDAT directory. They are in native ALL file format and can be loaded only by Motif ES or XS.

If you want, you can save editor file from ES and import saved file to voice editor. You can also use midi dump to transmit the voices from ES to your computer. However, voice editor cannot handle the user samples and because of the user samples, it does make sense to load the voices to ES first, otherwise you can’t monitor the voices in real time.

What I did,if I recall (it was a while ago),was first upload the contents into a folder in my computer. Then I copied the contents of the folder onto a Flash Drive. From there I uploaded from the Flash into the ES. The categories are marked so that you know just what is what. I auditioned the contents that way.
Hope this helps.
