Hi guys,
I know that a lot of you are knowledgeable about this stuff, so that’s why I would like to read your opinions.
type : Intel® Centrino® processor technology featuring Intel® Core™2 Duo processor T5550, Intel® PRO/Wireless 3945ABG network connection and Intel® GM965 Express chipset
Couple of days ago I downgraded to XP Professional 32 bit and also bought more memory. In shop they installed 2x2 GB DDR2 800 MHz.
Second question is - I see that XP recognizes only 3 GB of RAM. Is XP using all 4GB of RAM? Or do I have to go to XP 64bit? I hope by doing these changes making music will be more joyful since I have Motif Classic and want to use software of it. Thanks |

You have confused your Laptop’s frontside bus speed with the Mhz rating for RAM. They have nothing to do with each other.
Your processor’s speed is 1.87 Ghz.
You should use the RAM that is specified for your computer - any other

You do not have a 667Mhz computer. You have a computer with a 1.87Ghz processor. A 667Mhz computer would be ancient - they don’t make those anymore. |

Yes I’m aware that it’s not 667 MHz computer. But it says that RAM memory is DDR2 and 667 MHz. As I see, the front side bus has the same MHz as RAM. Anyway, I will go to the shop and try to replace those bought memory of 800 MHz with 667 MHz. thanks |

In this case, the frontside bus speed and the RAM megahertz are the same by coincidence only. For example, the latest Apple MacBook Pro has a frontside bus speed of 800Mhz, but the RAM chip specification is for 667 Mhz DDR2 SDRAM. |
