I purchased one of the first Motif XS6’s from Sweetwater when they came out. Yesterday, I just upgraded to the XS8. In purchasing the XS8, I noticed the price on the Motif XS6 is still $2199, where it was when I bought mine. That reminded me, I owe an apology. In the months leading up to the release of the XS, I made the comment that I should wait a few months when it comes down to $1999. I said that the $2199 was just to take advantage of those of us who have been waiting and will rush out and buy one. One of the Yamaha guys said, “We have no plans to lower the price” to which I replied,"Yeah, we’ll see”. Well, here I am, with my hat in my hand and my head bowed and I say, “I was wrong, I apologize”. I have seen other companies do that kind of thing, so I assumed Yamaha would as well. Since the 80’s when I had a Yamaha DX-100, I have only played Ensoniq, Kurzweil (K2000,K2500,&K2600;), and Korg (Triton Studio88). This is my first real Yamaha. And, as I said, I like it enough that I just moved up to the XS8. Thanks for the product and please accept my apology.

Im telling ya… I saw the price of the XS go up in 2009. The XS8 was listed everywhere for 3299$, of which I bought one for $3000 with a coupon I had. Then soon after I noticed listings at $3599 everywhere.

why.
my example i buy yamaha equip for 15000$ that is a complet mlan16 system,
that was great...was.
as musician i dont realy need generation 3, xs yamaha…
but i need a stablish aktuell mlan daw, including driver
i mean driver not steinberg trojan driver.
now 3 years ago i deceed not to buy, but companies are king they know how much you can pay for new next generation.

and the key is that patent, they do distroy working systems with that mlan patent, so buy or die 15000$ again.
thats money in your pocket are interest is only.

so with controling the market with patent and knowing how much you have in the pocket they control consumer,
but yamaha is japan not china, that means oftten they have ehrencodex,
thats thatz thing like a samurai im authentic roots that if not i destroy myself.

but in times of crizis they act like dark ninja, toget the head of your money pocket.
all on the market like that produce less, and do double money.
but less products means less worker and less famaly with positiv lifstyle energie.

so me as customer decied for positiv livestyle energie, so as samurai i take my nonprofit sword and destroy the ninja mlan thing.
what do you thing with that money i buy,
i take a least look in yamahas eyes and what do you think have i buy...ninja.
also i take a look into yamahas motif heart,
