This is what I wanna do.

Plug in my acoustic guitar into motif es.

I would like to use the guitar as one of the tracks in my SONG (SONG MODE). (I would use it for strumming)

Then I would like to use the same guitar and use it to play a lead using the MOTIF effects (lets say overdrive) in a different track.

How do I do all these? And I need to buy a pickup which is compatible with Motif ES, suggestions on that? I have a nylon string guitar.

I dont know if I am clear. In short

SONG MODE (new song)

1 TRACK PIANO
2 TRACK GUITAR (STRUMMING)
3 TRACK GUITAR LEAD
4 TRACK BASS
5 TRACK DRUMS

The only thing is for choosing piano I choose pre1 and then select. But how will I choose a guitar which I connect externally.

thx
jones (newbie)

The following article from the Motif ES SUPPORT area will take you through the process:

Sampling in Sequencer mode with the Motif ES

If you get stuck post back with specific questions.

Do you appreciate that an ordinary electric guitar pickup will not work on nylon strings?  Consequently, you will need some sort of Piezo electric transducer pickup that works by sensing the vibrations of the guitar body.  Other than that, I would suggest you forget the pickup and use a mic instead. (As the ES does not supply 48v, you will need a dynamic rather than condenser mic).

The Sampling in Sequencer Mode feels to complex to understand.

I have connected a condenser pickup to my nylon string guitar and I would now want to record it in one of the tracks in my song. what should I do?

thx

It’s not too complicated to understand...just do what it says, step by step. That’s how I learned to do it.
