I’m curious how others deal with output levels while switching between Performances in a live setting.  Apparently depending on the voices… my volume varies.  Whats the best way to compare output levels between performances?

Seriously, it’s worth spending some time to tweak the performances you are using to match the volumes, unless you are ready to do it with the output fader. Evaluating relative volumes by ear is by far the most effective method of getting the levels right.

To change the overall volume of a performance on the XS (I see you have one from your profile):

Select the Performance
Press [Edit]
Press [Common Edit]
Press [F2] - Level/MEF
Press [SF1] - Level

Change the Volume parameter to adjust the overall level of the performance.

When done, [Store] the performance in the usual way.

Using this method you can tweak all the default volumes of the performances you use so they are closer together in terms of output gain by default.

Thanks DF!  That is what I was looking for.  I’m enjoying my XS8 so much my new XS6 arrives this week!  Very excited.  Sold my Fantom X6 in favor of a second XS.  This forum and the expert immediate help here is priceless.
