Hi All I found an awesome midi drum groove from a third party loop source. I want to import this midi drum track from my PC connected to my MO8 by way of USB (or directly from my Flash Drive)into the MO8 so I can “split” the drums across different tracks. Could someone explain this procedure, or direct me to the page in the manual to achieve this. Thanks! Octaveman |

While you can’t directly transfer drum tracks via your USB connection between the computer and MO, you can load standard midi files (file type = *.mid) into the MO’s song/pattern sequencer. Simply go into file mode from song or pattern mode (i.e. press [SONG] (or [PATTERN])-->[FILE] and then press [F3] LOAD. From here select a data type of SMF, specify the *.mid file you wish to load and the song or pattern section that you wish to load the selected MIDI file into and press [ENTER]. Once you’ve loaded the drum tracks into a song or pattern section, you will probably want to specify an appropriate drum kit using the song or pattern mixing dialogs. Also, if the MIDI file you loaded includes embedded system exclusive data (for example a GM RESET command) and/or bank select or program change commands you will probably want to delete these such that your mixing parameters take precedence over these commands. Let us know if you need further assistance. Regards, Brad Weber |

Thanks Brad! I’m not at my DAW right now but I’ll let you know as soon as I get to my MO8. Also, I have no idea as to how I should delete “embedded system exclusive data (for example a GM RESET command) and/or bank select or program change commands”. But we’ll worry about that when (and if) the time comes. Thanks Octaveman Thanks again |

Hello, I´ve tried importing drum tracks the way Mr. Brad explained, but when loading it it doesn´t have the option: LOAD - TYPE - SMF. The only onde that shows are pattern and song to be loaded. Then when I load the file it is placed out of sync and never stars in the begining of the pattern or song, despite my effort to careffully saving them in my computer sequencer and removing all types of midi messages contained in the file. Could someone help me with it? Thnx. |

SMF stands for Standard Midi File, you just load any file with extension .MID Hope that helps, |
