Can you load a song via mp3 file or wav. file, and then playback the song through the M06?  I need this for a song/intro in a new band I am in.

Negative my friend.

The MO6/8 has no sampling abilities whatsoever, therefore cannot import “audio” files of any kind (wav., mp3, etc).

What you can do, (what I do) is export or record (your MO’s midi data) into a sequencer like Sonar, or Cubase and then add any audio that you need to add. You can then record each midi track you’ve recorded from you software Sequencer and mix and export all the tracks as an audio project.

This is the way most everyone works when it comes to dealing with the limitations of midi data that needs to be exported as audio.

How you’ll use that in a live situation will take a little imagination on your part.

The good news is that...... It Does Work!!

A little more complicated than I had hoped. Thanks for the response.

You may want to take a look at trading up to a Motif XS6…

The XS6 lets you record and play back audio files directly from a USB Thumb drive… so you could load the .wav file onto your USB drive and play it directly from the drive while you play along on your XS6 keyboard...!

After you write that first hit song that $1000 will seem like money well spent!
