Hello, I have an ES-Rack which I not use a lot since lack of time. Recently I played with it but I noticed that the data wheel doesn’t always respond that well. I feel the ‘clicks’ when rotating it, but not every click result in data change (for instance, when browsing through voices in a category). Sometimes 3 ‘clicks’ after eachother with no effect. It’s anoying. Could this be a defect and, if so, is this something I could fix? Thanks. |

Not sure..
Lack of use you say, you might try gently
Do Not spray or otherwise assault the
If you do not break it along the way,

Thanks, Well, it works, but not flawlessly. I spinned it around both ways a couple of times but it doesn’t solve it. Maybe it’s because my 2 year old son ‘played’ with the wheel a while ago, not sure. |

I recently bought one with this exact same problem. I thought I’d be able to get used to it, but it’s frustrating beyond belief!
Could this be some sort of software issues?
Thanks, |

My ES Rack too has got this problem, after a pair of years of usage. I’m starting to think that it can be an hardware problem (the wheel).

A search of the archives will yield quite a few similar anecdotes. It seems the data wheel is an Achilles Heel for the racks… If it’s approaching unusability, I imagine Yamaha can repair it. |

I have the same problem with mine also. It took me years to figure out that, with my Rack ES anyway, the problem is caused by tempreture. If the rack is not warmed up to a room temp of at least 68 degrees the wheel is slugish. Once warmed up it works fine. |
