i have a friend who has the first motif rack and from what i could tell you can’t get into the heart of the presets and change the sound. i.e. you can’t change the envelopes on the sound...you can’t change the waveforms used, you can’t assign lfo’s to the amp or the filter cutoff...etc etc....My old triton rack could do all of these things....is this a true assumption for the motif xs rack or not? thank you very much! |

You can edit all of those parameters on the voices in the Motif Rack XS’s preset banks… you cannot, however, overwrite these changes into the preset voice banks, but must rather store these modified voices in the user voice banks. Regards, Brad Weber |

In the Motif-Rack XS they are called VOICES. You can create your own VOICES and store them in any of the 3 Banks of normal USER VOICES (384 total) or in the USER DRUM (32 Kits). “From scratch” in the Motif-Rack XS means starting with any of the 2670 WAVEFORMS that are in memory. And editing is done in the Motif-Rack XS Editor (available for Windows and Macintosh). Available for download from: Yamaha Synth Motif-Rack XS Editors |
