Hi everyone! I have a Motif-Rack ES. I’ve previously used it with Cubase in Windows without problems, and I’ve also used the Windows based Studio Manager with the two voice and multi editors.
Now I have to use Logic, so I’m on Mac OS X. Thing is, I can use the Motif fine with Logic, the midi usb driver installed without any problem whatsoever.
I can find the midi ports in the program, but the device list is just empty. What can be done? I’ve looked through the manual but there’s no troubleshooting or nothing, and I can’t find anything about it on Yamaha’s site so it feels like a big dead end. |

I have the exact problem… I have just reinstalled my Mac and I have no devices to choose from in the Ad device list in the Studio manager.... Googling like mad. Every guide says add the Motif XS to the device list - But there is no device to ad… ? HELP Please :-) Ps. I also use a Virus Snow. They have one up to date installer that does everything and it works in Logic. Sorry to say this but working with the Motif makes me feel a little back to the eighties computerwise with 10 installers, midi firmware etc.. Please Yamaha. Join the present and help us focus on the music !!! :-) |

Fixed it… You have to install the Motif Rack Editor 1.1.1 not the newest one 1.5.1… :-)
What about this : Press this button and everything is up to date!!!! All the best :-) |

Actually it was me not reading correctly. I had downloaded the Motif ES6/7/8 multi editor, not the RACK-ES DOH! |
