Hi Guys!!

I’m having problems setting up and synchronizing the Studio Manager (SM) with the MO8. I haven’t been able to figure out the MIDI settings in order to communicate the software with the synth. There is a window which keeps popping out every time I try to synchronize - EDITORS PORTS ARE NOT SETUP. I am trying to find an answer to this. I’m using Logic Express 8 (LE8) as a DAW. I know there’s no compatibility between SM and LE8, but I was expecting to use the SM just as a Voice Editor.

I use the following setup with Cubase, Connection Manager, Multi Editor and Voice Editor.  Works fine, but still need to get some bugs out with Mult Editor and Arpeggio functionality.

Refer to MO8 Manual Pg 113 For DAW Control

DAW Mode A Cubase Port 4
DAW Mode B General Port 3

Cubase Mackie Control - Mo8 DAW Control Mode A Port 4
Mo8<->DAW(Cubase) Mackie Control

Mulit Editor Control - Mo8 DAW Control Mode B Port 3
Mo8->Multi Editor
Note: Mo8 In DAW Mode

Multi Editor - MIDI In/Out Port 1 ( Multis Synchronization )
Mo8<->DAW
Note: Multi Editor - Device # Should Match Device # Set Up in MO8
Note:  Mo8 In Song Mode

Voice Editor - MIDI In/Out Port 1 ( Voice Synchronization)
Mo8<->Voice Editor

Voice Editor - MIDI Ch 1 on Port 1
Note:  Mo8 In Voice Mode

For MIDI Recording Your DAW Software( Cubase for me ) should be set to MIDI Port 1 ( Channels 1-16 for Parts/Tracks))
