Now come now fellas, what is this all about. I come in here lifted up with pride, why you might ask, well this whole hardware thing is starting to look a bit long in the tooth.

Well I think I’ll get in on the front end of this, say my piece and watch the sparks fly. If there is anything I’ve learned here in the Motifator over the years is that there is so much gear,so many approaches and a variety of “tastes” musically to go with them. For “anyone” to suggest that “their observations” and “their opinions” on the quality and use of any of this equipment, software or hardware are the ulitmate, end all and conclusion to the debate or the use of said equipment is the demonstration of arrogance at its highest. With so many factors to consider, it’s any wonder that there would be more than 1 company or manufacturer to fulfill the requirements of the many individuals that use the equipment. The question then comes,"If you are ‘not’ using ‘this particular gear’ mean your music/productions are not worthy, and the musician/producer is a glorified hobbyist”? Having heard music in MoSongs over the years, knowing that the posters are using a variety of approaches and gear, it seems to “me” that there are any number of ways to “do” what it is one wants to “do” as long as they know how to get the most out of what they have. It appears “we” are about to get taken, yet again,on a trip through a “self proclaimed authority” on “what to and what not to use” for music production and any considerations otherwise are not sophisticated in the “finer details” of music production, thus disqualifying “them” and their productions.
“I” may be one of these. The good news for me is I will be brought up to speed in the knowledge of the gear and the “details” within. I will also learn the compensations for the short comings of what I have. I doubt if any of this will send me jetting to the nearest Guitar Center,Sam Ash or to the phone to my personal commercial dealer, but,at least until the posts get personal, the points and counter points will be interesting and, at times, informative.

Getting back to topic of the XS for a quick point. If you walk into a room full of keyboards, yamaha motif and the yamaha digital pianos definitely stand out and are ahead of the rest with the balanced and graded hammer key action. Some would argue that is also a matter of preference, but I cant see how. The others feel like cheap toys (but are not cheap) |

Oh no - Foleycore back again with the same old storyline.
Guys - there’s no use answering this guy - he’s pulled this
Foleycore flung his crap far and wide on the “old” motifator
Watch - he’ll probably reply to my post with some observation
Even if he claims that some product is obviously the superior

Three quick points: 1) It ain’t the fiddle, it’s the man who plays the tune. 2) Show of hands from anyone who gives a crap what Foleycore thinks about anything? ..... Didn’t think so. 3) Please don’t feed the troll. Bob |

The root of Foleycore is the word folly. Folly is the action of a fool. Core is the center. He is a fool right to the core. And I believe Foleycore is translated into Shmuck in some languages. |

Hey, it’s foleycore again in one his many incarnations! zzzzzz Now, in my opinion Aretha Franklin can’t sing a note, Bill Evans could ride a bike better than play a piano and Mozart was a composer of cheap jingles. Now can we talk about me and my important views please? ;) |

It was bound to happen sooner or later. So. Foley. Have they fixed the Monash Freeway yet or is it still an utter disgrace? |

Scotch, I’m not sure if you were around back 7 or 8 years ago, but back then Foleycore would right with absolutely no punctuation and capitalization and his posts would ramble on for multiple pages… so no this was not meant ironically. Brad |
