i have a yamaha motif 7 classic.
I installed the yamaha tools that came in with the cd rom.
They installed correctly but everytime i try to open one of them, NOTHING HAPPENS.
It’s like their shortcuts are on my desktop screen but not working.
I have vista 64....

So basically, i need to find a way to transfer midi data between my beloved motif and my hp laptop..

Please help.

Even with the File Utility, transferring data between the Motif and a computer require you to save that data to a SmartMedia Card (SMC) or SCSI device prior to transferring it to the computer. Given that, you might as well just get a SMC and make sure that you have a SMC Reader for your PC.

(If what you are primarily interested in transferring is voice programming, you can use the Motif Classic Voice Editor running on your instrument to bulk transfer this data via either a MIDI interface or the USB host interface.)
