Hi, new to MO8 ( i used to own a Motif8) and i didn’t realize that there isn’t a sustain pedal jack in the board!! (i know, how did i miss that?) Is there a way I can program the board so that my FC3 can act as a sustain pedal? Alternately, how would i program the board to sustain the way a pedal would? Some help would be much appreciated - thanks! |

the jack is labeled as footswitch… were you looking for the actual word Sustain on the jack? maybe that’s why you thought it doesn’t have one? |

My understanding is that the FC3 will not work as a sustain pedal with the MO as this pedal is designed to provide “half-damping” capabilities which are not present in the MO. (This capability is supported in the S90ES and Motif XS.) The recommended sustain pedals for the MO are the Yamaha FC4 or FC5. These pedals are foot switches (which send simple on/off messages), whereas the FC3 sends control changes with a range of values. Regards, Brad Weber |
