Imagine watching a Simon and Garfunkel’s concert and being the part of the crowd. To close the show they do a instrumental unplugged version of their hit song “sound of silence” with some adlib’s, which most bands do in the concert.

this is my idea, Mix is done to give the feeling of live concert.

enjoy.

Hammad,

Did you do it on purpose? It sounds out of tune to my ears.
I hope I did not offend you, or maybe I hear it wrong.

Isn’t un-plugged by definition ‘an acoutstic performance’?

Was okay. It did inspire me to dig out that CD for a listen… For that I thank you. Those were the days. [pass the herb brotha’]

I think Jan references the bending of the note, which in not consistent with the orginal melody of the song and sounds out of place to the tuned ear.  This occurs where the lyric in the initial verse is… “because a vision softly creeping” The bend of ‘creeping’ is not true to the original cadence. 7th?

Some slight timing issues in the drum track/changes, but it was a live performance… [grin] Mix was easy to listen to.

I gave you a 5/5 for inspiring the flashback…

jan,

i am never offended by positive feedback..
I was trying to create a Live, semi improvised version, not the absolute cover.

hence the detune and off timming is done on purpose.

Yeah tbone, unplugged usually means accoustic. and you are welcome.

Let’s not say it’s a live performance by the original artist, let’s say it’s from a garage band sort of thingy:)

and pitch beds were part of improvising and adding the adlib’s.

cheers

Hammad,

I am glad you are not offended. I appreciate your effort. I have the original LP “ Bridge over trouble water” I think its the name of the album. That album was made ages ago.

Hammad, still it does pain to my ears listening to this piece. LOL.

an interesting interpretation.....
i can FULLY understand and appreciate the conscious attempt to “ad lib” it
but.... to my ear, i you MAY have overdone that a bit… as to make the song (often) unrelated to the original… which isn’t a bad thing, i suppose

a lot of it i like
the playing is very nice
the more i listen.... the more interesting it gets

thanks, as always, for sharing with us

In that case… “Dude. You guys rock!” (~;

Maharaja of Rajhistan was listening to “sound of silence” on his ipod one night, he liked it so much that he asked his personal symphony orchestra to play this one.

i don’t if the symphony orchestra did a good job but they kept the fanfares for maharaja, which he liked a lot and still produced this great hit.

All fiction actually LOL

enjoy

Hammad, I enjoyed to listen!

O.k. I knew, what would come (title)but then: This Intro? Wrong song? Very mysterious, you don´t expect this melodie. And then you introduce the melodie, and the parts belong together. Respect!

The melodie is played like a synphonie orchester would, may be, play it. There are some little timing issues, that doesn´t doesn´t matter.

Nice to hear you with the Lahore Synphonie Orchestra! I wait for the first CD with Beethovens “Eroica”.
