hi there,
by accident, I managed to reformat my Smart Media card on PC, so that the Motif can no longer read the the card.

Problem now is that I can not purchase any Smart Media cards.

what alternatives do I have to transfer Midi files / backups etc?
- USB stick
- direct to laptop
- repair the Smart media card?

I would like to use USB if possible. Does this work?????

thanks for your help!!!!

Since you are talking about SmartMedia, I assume that you have a Motif Classic or Motif ES. (You’ve posted to the MO6/MO8 forum.)

If you have a Motif ES, you can transfer data between your computer and the ES via a USB storage device.

If you have a Motif classic, the first thing I would try would be to format the SmartMedia Card on the Motif. This is done from the [FILE]-->[F1] CONFIG dialogs. The USB connection for the Motif classic is a Host only connection. Your other option is to use a SCSI storage device to move data between the Motif and computer.

Hope this helps.
