Some folks in the store today told me that smart media cards are no longer manufactured so I was wondering if I could use some other card instead of smart media? I have motif classic. Thx.

The only alternative is an XD to SMC adapter ($10).
And of course some XD 128Mb cards.

But SMC’s are still for sale here and there.

Just out of curiosity, what kind of cards do Motif ES and XS use?

ES: SMC(128Mb) and USB-1(2Gb) note USB1 is 2ce as SLOW as SMC
XS: USB-2(64Tb) and Ethernet.

All Motifs can use mLan network.

Well not quite, the Motif classic did support a version of mLAN (via the mLAN8e plug-in option), but that was never well supported, is incompatible with newer mLAN products and has been discontinued.

Apologies, I should have bought a Motif to know for sure.
Saving my dimes for an XS (or YS) so I can be more accurate in future.

Besides, it’s a pity that the Motif (Classic) is judged on its
periferal weaknesses, it sounds just great among all others.

P.S., Organized, do you HAVE any SMC’s?
Are those for sale in Serbia?

Matbe a little late, but Ebay has plenty of SMCs. Don’t forget to get a SMC reader as well.

I was going to post that Fuji used to promise they would continue to support the SMC card format but can no longer find any reference to it on their website.

C’est la vie.

So yes, back to the XD card to SMC slot adapter. But you cannot address more than the first 128Mb of any XD card via a Motif so it is probably little point getting a massive XD card.

Cheers
