I actually had asked this question in another thread, but think it would be better to start another one. I couldn’t figure out how to delete the other post. For anyone that can help me these few questions listed below, I thank you in advance. God bless

your setup is different to what we had in other thread. i’m not sure what is your wireless gaming adaptor (post link to the device so i can check for you) so is bit hard to tell. IF it is some sort of modem/router device then you should be all done and set. you can check that by pressing utlity button on your motif then press info (SF6 button) if you see tcp/ip details then you done and you just need to share folder on your mac. IF that adapter is NOT a router of any kind then panic, just copy all details from your mac pc and enter them in motif BUT change last part of ip address.
for example if lets say mac details are like this
you enter on motif:
so in short change ip compared to your mac few numbers up and rest like network mask, default gateway, dns..... copy to motif settings BUT as i said check with info button first and you might not have to do anything. if you still stuck make another post. btw YES you can load sound banks via network, i love this |

A couple of questions… When I go to File on the Motif XS and click on mount, it comes up with Host and Sharing. But there is no Host in the list that I can choose from. I turned file sharing on for personal files in my Mac. Don’t understand why it doesn’t show a host. When I press enter, it says to enter put username and password. I tried to do that but it says, “Can’t access the host” Also, If I turn file sharing on, will I be opening the computer up to anybody being able to access my files from another computer that has a wireless card? BTW, the wireless game adaptor just picks up signal, it is not a router. I think it is meant so that you 2 xbox’s can wirelessly connect/play games with each other. But it is able to pick up any non-secure wireless signal. |

your setup is still not clear to me so i can’t comment on some of the questions you asked. as for host not coming up try entering host IP address or host name by hand in motif in the mount section. there got to be someone with mac around here that got it working and is willing to help |

Bad Mister/Yamaha, Would you possibly be able to help with giving me step by step instructions for getting the ethernet on the motif xs to work with a MAC? I really don’t know where to start with this. I have tried various things with no success… I definitely don’t know much about networking. Thanks so much and God bless John |

Bump...I just reworded the title so that Bad Mister would see the post easier and possibly take a look at it. I am assuming that there are many people with a Mac/Motif XS combo and more people than just myself that might benefit from a detailed explanation.
Again, I definitely thank you in advance for your help.

There are two ways to connect the Motif XS with a host computer for data transfers.
