Hi Everybody
My first rough demo song on the XS using my new vocal sample library. The mixing is fairly basic but see what you think.

Have to agree with Hncheema here, I like the mix.  The voice is very crisp, but everything has a soft edge on it...sorta mysterious.  I like it.

Wonderful song, I like it, and the mix is well done also.
Hey, welcome to MoSongs sista, want to share some of those fantastic lyrics with me? LOL
Heck, I need lyrics for my music badly.

Anyway, thanks for sharing your work.

Hey Guys
Thanks for the nice comments about the song but I feel a bit of a cheat. The vocals are actually from a sample library called “Ultimate Vocals Vol. 1” which is available on download from a company called Producer Loops. There are the bones of about twenty different songs in the library and they are all very well sung and recorded. They are all dance-oriented and have a count-in which you’ll have to trim before using but they do sound pretty good when you add some XS magic to the mix.
Hope this clears things up and you won’t think the worse of me!

The backing track is fine, nearly perfect, very well arranged, style, rhythm and voices.
But a voice sample??? I think the voice is something personal, it shouldn´t be used in samples. Either one can sing or not or invite a friend to sing, but using voice samples of someone you personally don´t know; I have many questionmarks on that, because it depersonalizes the human voice and uses it like an instrument which is an object not a subject.

Sorry for my remarks, I like your track, but it makes me think about the borderlines of sampling ...

I disagree with aneider. The human voice, while infinitely more complex than most instruments, is, none the less, used as an instrument when used in music. It still has to obey the conforms of music to sound right. Hell, how much of music today uses samples of different peoples voices and songs ?? ALOT !!!

I think the song sounds really good. I’m sure different people with the same samples could come up with something incredibly different. I don’t see it as degrading the human voice at all.

Keep the creativity, samples and music coming people....

Maxx is right

a lot of pro’s are using vocal samples. in rap songs, electronic mixes

and tons and tons of royalty free vocal samples are available on the net as well.

Hi hncheema
Try http://www.producerloops.com/bluezone or do a google search for producer loops sample libraries, once you’ve found it click on the vocals icon and voila!
Hope this helps.

I like what the composer and electronic musician, Johann Johannsson says on his “IBM 1401, a users manual” album concerning computers and music:
“We should not fear the machines, but care for them, embrace them with the same sense of wonder as we do our own children. For if we do not, they might - as negelcted children - turn against us. Sooner or later we have to learn to read the User Manual.”
I think that is what we do, when we use computers for our music. We try to give them a soul and more or less treat them like a human subject.
Using the human voice not only as a sound (scat f.i.) but as a sampled voice which sings a text, that can´t be written by a machine, is in my opinion the opposite of the aim of electronic music as described by Johann Johannsson.

I believe you’ll find there’s quite a difference between a human, and a human’s voice....
