Hi All Has anyone tried using an FC7 foot controller to control the speeding up or slowing of the Lesile on the organ patches? If so, what is the process for doing this. If checked the manual regarding assigning this to the pedal, but it does not work. Any help would be great. |

Surely, this is possible (assigning control of the Rotary Speaker Insertion Effect with an FC7) but from just the way you pose the question, I feel obligated to tell you that the Rotary Speaker control is a “switch” not a continuous parameter. What this means is that all values of the pedal from 0-63, for example, will select SLOW, and any value 64-127 will select fast. The parameter in the INSERTION EFFECT that is being controlled is called “SpdCtrl” (Speed Control). And is a switch - and like any two-way switch, selects one condition or the other, period. The transition time between the slow setting speed and the fast speed is handled by a group of programmable parameters within the INSERTION EFFECT. Take a Rotary Speaker algorithm where it is set to SLOW. you have a parameter for the SLOW setting of Rotor (low frequency speaker) and a separate SLOW setting for the Horn (high frequency speaker). There is also separate parameters for each the FAST Rotor and the FAST Horn. Then, important to the transition effect, are the parameters that control the TRANSITION TIME. One handles the time between the SLOW and FAST setting of the Rotor and the other between the SLOW and FAST setting of the Horn. All of these are programmable. When you “flip” the switch, the transition takes place as soon as the Controller passes the programmable “switch” point.... at the time transition you have selected. Very flexible. Whether assigned to the MOD WHEEL or the FC7, it does not matter whether you move the wheel slowly or quickly… this movement is not directly incrementing the speed. Once you pass the “switch” point - the TRANSITION TIME parameters take over and its a done deal. The speed transitions according to your settings. It is not a continuous, 1:1 thing between the position of the controller and the speed. Once you *pass* a specific spot (influenced by the DEPTH amount) the command switches from SLOW to FAST. Because the Rotor and the Horn can have different transition times and different slow and fast speeds, this adds to the complexity of the transition sound. The transition speed (once initiated) is controlled by the parameters I mentioned above. Call up an Organ sound with a Rotary Speaker assigned PRE 1: 083(F03) “16+8+5&1;/3” for example:
Press [EDIT]
Next, press [F6] EFFECT
Hope that helps. |

BM: Thanks for the help. I will try this and let you know how it works out. |
