I have XP64 and Motif XS8, since AI 64 bit driver is not out yet, I’m thinking of using YSFW 64 bit.  Would I miss some features available on AI that don’t exist on YSFW?  Is the only difference the multi-device support?

The functionality of the YSFW driver and the AI driver are identical if you only have one device connected.

So you don’t lose anything if you install the YSFW driver.

However if you do you should also update your Firewire firmware and install the new Motif XS Extensions. 

In your case, the software set would be :

• Extensions for Steinberg DAW V1.5.0
(Windows Vista/XP 64bit) for the Motif XS
• Win 64-bit – Yamaha Steinberg Firewire driver version 1.2.1
• IEEE1394 Firmware Updater version 1.07 for the Motif XS
