As far as I know the digital out (SPDIF out of the RCA connector of the MO) is always on. It’s just a digital version (stereo) of whatever is coming out of the analog audio outputs. So check the settings on your other device to make sure they’re where they’re supposed to be. Kevin |

Hi there, it’s always on, but you have set up your audio interface SPDIF Input to 44.1kHz/24-bit. |

Hi again, I’m using SPDIF Out on MO6 as well. I got M-Audio Firewire Solo. One think I forgot to mention is, that you have to set your clock source to external (in my case, anyway) when using DIGITAL IN of audio interface. Try to set it up this way, and let us know. And, oh, you can not change volume of DIGITAL OUT signal, with your Master Volume slider, so don’t be surprised. |

I’ve never had to do that. The digital out is always working. It should just show up on an interface’s control panel meters when you play something on the mo. You using the mo as a clock for your audio system, might be better than some interfaces. |
