Hello all,
I have my MO6 plugged in to my Roland VS2400 through the digital out cable. The Roland is not seeing the MO. I have used this extensively in the past, but I can’t get the Roland to see it. Did I somehow disable the digital out in the MO? I tried the factory reset but it didn’t help. Headphones work fine with the MO. Any suggestions? I have checked the cord and connections. I am more familiar with the VS than the MO and things are set correctly there. Any help would be appreciated.
thanks,
JoeVFR

As far as I know the digital out (SPDIF out of the RCA connector of the MO) is always on. It’s just a digital version (stereo) of whatever is coming out of the analog audio outputs. So check the settings on your other device to make sure they’re where they’re supposed to be.

Hi there,

it’s always on, but you have set up your audio interface SPDIF Input to 44.1kHz/24-bit.

Hello all,
back again and still having trouble with this. My recorder is set to 44.1 and 24 bit. It still does not see the MO. I have changed the cable and went through the VS2400 manual thoroughly. Is there any way I disabled the 24 bit digital out from the MO? The easiest thing would be try another digital source, but I don’t have one. Anyone with ideas? Is it possible to measure a voltage output?

Hi again, I’m using SPDIF Out on MO6 as well. I got M-Audio Firewire Solo. One think I forgot to mention is, that you have to set your clock source to external (in my case, anyway) when using DIGITAL IN of audio interface. Try to set it up this way, and let us know. And, oh, you can not change volume of DIGITAL OUT signal, with your Master Volume slider, so don’t be surprised.

I’ve never had to do that. The digital out is always working. It should just show up on an interface’s control panel meters when you play something on the mo.

You using the mo as a clock for your audio system, might be better than some interfaces.
