Any advice on where I might buy the cheapest XS8? Seems the going price is $3300 on musiciansfriend.com and similiar sites. I’m hoping to pick one up a hundred or two dollars cheaper. Am I dreaming?

google kansas city Mo music stores..one had a floor model for 27OO and Portland Music had another for 2800 which also was their demo.

I got mine for 2255, but took alot of looking

Wow those are good prices for sure. I doubt I’ll find deals that good.

Although, now that think about it, im not sure I want a demo floor model, nor do I want one shipped thru ups. I’ve seen those guys from ups, the bigger and heavier the box, the more they beat on it.

I usually buy my stuff at either Zzounds or American Musical Supply, they have the XS8 now for 3199.99, the cool thing at AMS is that they split the payments at $600 a month (plus $198.99 down) with no interest when you pay with your credit card.
Now if you can pay for it in one shot B&H;has the XS8 for $2999.95, you got to request the “email me a better price” to get the link to that price…
Just google them and check it out.

Just an FYI,
I’ve found that patience really helps when making major purchases. I purchased my XS8 about 18 months ago over a major holiday when a local music store was anxious to move inventory. I bought my boxed XS for well under $3000. And, when I say well under, I am talking much more than a couple hundred bucks. Honestly, I know it sounds like I’m blowing smoke but, my actual price was less than I paid for my Motif classic {also, well under $2700}.. and, after selling my Motif Classic and Rack XS on Ebay for $1800, I had very little coming out of pocket… I had the local store and an online store that I do quite a bit of business with bidding against one another…

Don’t be afraid to ask for something ridiculous, especially in this economy when stores may be hurting for biz…

I’m sorry, one other thing…
you really do want to make an effort to develop a relationship with a salesman. Whatever, I may have sacrificed initially in terms of dollar savings at an online store, I have more than made back in the relationship with deals, extras, discounts, etc…

By the way, even when I purchase from the online store, I called and dealt with the salesperson from my area. He has given me some K’razy deals…

got my XS8 for $2999 and a free beginner guitar book for my wife, at guitar center here in michigan. They had a $300 dollar instant rebate. Not bad eh?

Be patient. Get the ebay app and save your search.  Check it regularly.  I bought a new in box xf8 for $2899 no tax, free shipping.  Saw a b stock xf7 for $2499.  Also try craigslist app.  It will automatically notify you of new postings.  May take a month or two.  When you see one, check out seller, but don’t delay.  A good deal can be gone in minutes.
