When i try to upload the xspanded sample to pack to the xs it says illegal file......help

I get a message that says illegal file, when i try to load the xspanded sample pack into the xs any ideas

make sure you’ve downloaded the entire file.  i got the same illegal file message, deleted the file (which was only about 60mb for DCP) and the second time it downloaded the entire 202 MB file, which loaded fine

Please be specific about which file you are downloading.

“XSpanded Sample Pack” does not (or should not) contain any
DCP library sounds. The “DCP/VR Sample Pack” is a different
file than “XSpanded Sample Pack”. Both are free downloads.

same problem here with the DCP/VR Sample Pack: “Illegal file” message ... i re-downloaded it several times but nothing changes...maybe i’ll try some more different unzippers…

any news on this? i still can’t load the bank :-(

Im not sure but, I think you need to have RAM installed on your Motif XS in order to use the XSpanded sound banks. They are too big for the factory specs. Perhaps you HAVE RAM installed and its some other issue. I havent tried using the XSpanded banks yet due to not having RAM myself.

...of course i do have ram installed!? Other banks load fine and even some sounds of the mentioned DCP/VR Pack do load iff I select sinlge ones, but the drum kit fails and when loading the whole file it fails, too. :-(

Please be more specific with your information. Are you now saying
that you were able to download all of the XSpand Your World content
with success? (in other words, does all the content download and
unzip onto your PC without trouble?)

You are saying you were able to load “some” of the sounds from
DCP/VR Sample Pack. The DCP/VR Sample Pack should be loaded as an
ALL file, not individual sounds one at a time. This is explained
in the manual that is included in the download. Did you follow
the manual instructions exactly?

What do you mean by “other banks”? The other XSpand Your World
content? You responded by stating “of course do I have RAM installed?” That is asking a question - you did not say for certain
that you do have RAM installed, or how much RAM you have installed.
You MUST have at least 512MB of RAM installed in your XS in order
to load the XSpand Your World content.
