Is there a possibility of a metronome button? One like that of the Fantom?
By the way, great new site… Jr. |

Hi, There is a metronome in the xs!! See page 270 in English manual. You have to press the button “seq setup” (right from the lcd screen, under “mode"). There you can set the metronome settings you prefer. Greetings, Marcel |

I believe he thinks on dedicated metronome button,to just press it and have metronome on (fantom x had that). It is not bad idea,I don’t know if yamaha can implement this in new os? |

yeah like the one on the fantom x would be awesome.. a quick access to a metronome would be beneficial to practicing chops and making your drummer realize that he’s not keeping time, like he claims!!

yeah, i guess I can go out an buy a K_rg metronome, but its a hassle.. especially, when you have other things to worry about.. A dedicated metronome button (with tap tempo) would be great.... |

Yamaha’s US folks are active on this site (and it wouldn’t surprise me if their development team in Japan also monitor this site), so posting a request here is probably as good a way as any to make a request for future product enhancements. Regards, Brad Weber |

Request? what about 16-part performance mode. Why? CPU limitation? |

There must be a button that applies to all performance modes (Voice, Performance, Song, Pattern, etc..) that isn’t being used in them WHICH could be used as a tap tempo. I was first thinking about the large white sequencer buttons since they also have a LED, but those would only not be in use in Voice and Performance modes. |

OK, since we are on the topic of “keeping time”..
I find myself guessing a lot at the tempo at which I want to record, and have to press record and play and realize that i need to increase/decrease the tempo.. |

May, I may have miss read your statement. But doesn’t setting the click to always in seq set-up do this for you? So still no tap tempo huh =( Don’t think its going to happen. Would be nice tho. My MV-8800 has it and I use it A LOT! |

Hey Amayhem, I did explain that as complicated as possible on my last post.. Sorry. I meant that we should have the option to have the click start as soon as you enter the sequence page(without having to press play). This allows anyone trying to record a musical idea more efficiently without having to spend 5 minutes trying to get the right click tempo just to start recording your idea. Right now we have to go to sequence or pattern mode, guess a tempo, press record & play, realize that the tempo is way too fast or slow, stop the click, readjust the tempo by guessing, press record &play;, etc, etc. A beating click would just make it easier to make the tempo right the first time and record your inspirational ideas quicker, and concentrate in making music rather than spending time in adjusting the tempo.. By then, you might have forgotten your original idea, it usually doesn’t sound as good the second time around.. |
