I have used an old KORG N-5 Synth as a second MIDI controller connected to MIDI IN of Motif XF7. I set the N-5 to transmit on Ch 2 and set up Masters using song mode (disable internal keyboard in Zone 2) and it has worked great for last 5 years. Suddenly this past week when I powered my rig up...the Motif XF appears to no longer receive the Ch 2 signal. I checked MIDI cables, reset N-5 and double checked it was transmitting on Ch 2… The I even borrowed another MIDI controller and set it’s MIDI output to transmit on Ch 2...To no avail Does anyone know what might be issue or experienced something similar? Motif XF7 running
firmware Ver 1.50.4

If you connect the MIDI-Out of the XF to the MIDI-In of the N5, can the XF play the N5 (presuming MIDI channels match)? |

I found problem...my MIDI In/Out was switched to USB. Once switched back to MIDI all is good again! Thanks for responding! |

That’s what I suspected, which is why I asked if MIDI was working in the other direction.
