Can you please help me to connect my Motif XS6 to a laptop? I have alredy tried doing it with a cable like those used for printers, but it didn’t work. I am trying to connect it to the laptop in order to be able to use an editing program,named John Melas.
I have alredy changed the Midi setting to the USB at my Motif,but still didn’t want to connect to the laptop.
Do I need to install another driver to my laptop or do I need to do some other settings to my keyboard?

The cable should connect from the XS “TO HOST” port to the USB port on the laptop.

The correct USB-MIDI Driver is required. Since you didn’t tell us whether your laptop is a Mac or Windows machine, and which OS is installed on it, we can’t point you to the specific driver.

yes i did connection via host- usb sibam triedbw two different cables, but it gives me the same message, Motif XS6 is not connected.  I installed Windows 10 on the laptop. Multumesc.

The most recent OS (firmware) for the Motif XS is version 1.60. It’s almost 10 years old. I don’t expect Yamaha to be issuing any further updates.
