Hi , Firstly, I am not a techie at all....I have been away from music for a while and just coming back to it.
System : I have Motif XS and
Mac Book Pro, Version Mojave 10.14.6
1...I just upgraded from Cubase 8.5 to Cubase 10.5.
2...What do I need to do on Motif XS to work with the Cubase upgrade?  3...What firmware version do I need on the Motif XS now ?
3...Can I record arpegiated MIDI songs and patterns direct from Motif via thunderbolt into Cubase 10.5?
4… Sound card...I don’t have a dedicated soundcard just what is in the MAC..How do I address that ?

For Mojave OS 10.14, make sure the Mac has Yamaha Steinberg FW Driver V1.7.5 for Mac macOS 10.14.x-OS X 10.9.5 installed. If not, you can get it at:

...you already have the cable and Thunderbolt adapter needed to connect the XS to the Mac via FW.

I don’t use a Mac or Cubase, so hopefully another Motifator member will offer further help.

I have a link for the Rack XS VST Editor that’s compatible with Cubase 10.5 and Mac OS 10.14, but not one for the XS6/7/8. I suggest that you contact Yamaha Support and ask them where to find the updated Editor VST version for the XS keyboard models. If Yamaha provides a link, please let us know what it is.
