Bass clarinet probably isn’t the most widely used instrument, which is partly why I’m trying to find a rack Xs patch for it! It’s absent from the patchman soundbanks and the rack Xs presets. Anyone know of a compatible sound bank that has it?
Best wishes
Richard

Hi RP3110,

I don’t know of a compatible Bass Clarinet voice for you, but I’d consider playing a regular Soprano (Bb) Clarinet voice lower down on the keyboard, and because the Bass Clarinet has a more mellow and smokier sound than the regular Soprano, I’d also consider filtering just a touch of the top frequencies off with a low pass filter.

I’d also consider boosting some low EQ to make it sound bigger at the bottom.

This all depends on if the sample itself can take it; woodwind voices can sound pretty bad once you get outside of the natural ranges.
